Urgent Need For Fighting Corona Virus with Music and Melodies For Mental Health of Scared Public

THE SAME NATURE which has thrown open the deadly infectious diseases like Corona has also thrown open a treasure house of rhythms and melodies in and around us, but we seem to be mostly unaware of them due to our preoccupation with the modern-day money-making indulgence!

Our body and mind are blessed with healthy resonance and rhythms, without which we would have long been dead and gone, the disharmony in them is the major cause for all our ailments – both physiological and psychological. Being consciously aware of this harmony should go a long way in enjoying good health. Musicians are aware - though unconsciously – of the bodily rhythms when they sign or when they evolve a beat-pattern. Music thus connects us to our own rhythms and also with the world around, which follow the same patterns. The body recognizes and responds to the pulses of the music in no time.

A therapy system has been developed in recent years to medically address certain conditions such as arthritis, rheumatism, back pain, post-operative healing, sports injuries, bone fracture and muscular injuries. Besides pain reduction, these attempts are reports to help in improving one’s mobility.

Music has tremendous potential as a powerful tool to open up new possibilities for those who have suppressed emotions that cause great harm to the human personalities leading to severe behavioural problems. As emotions represent the ‘outgoing’ feelings, when music is combined, there is every chance of its outward moment, thus clearing the congestion and inhibition that block one’s emotional well-being, Music ranges from the subtle varieties to violent ones. It is also established beyond doubt that music imparts certain healthy mental and emotional patterns to its listeners, which stems from its own organization and pattern.

What Ayurveda Can Offer in fight against Corona virus

As people rush to keep themselves protected from coronavirus, Ayurveda experts have stressed that medicinal herbs such as Amla, Giloy, Shilajit and Neem are helpful in strengthening the immune system which is key to fighting this deadly virus.

* Strong immunity is necessary to fight any kind of foreign body or disease. Coronavirus primarily affects the lungs and the respiratory system. Eating a tablespoonful of Chywanprash daily enhances the immunity, specifically that of lungs and the respiratory system. Amalaki (Emblica Officinalis), Guduchi/glioy (Tinospora Cordifolia), Neem (Azadirachta Indica), Kutki (Picrorhiza Kurroa), Tulsi (basil) are some of the Ayurvedic herbs that are helpful in building the immunity and preventing the infection.

* In Ayurveda, good digestion or strong digestive fire plays a very important role in fighting diseases. Eat a piece of fresh ginger or drink ginger tea. Mint tea, cinnamon tea, and fennel tea to kindle your digestive power

* Putting two-three drops of sesame oil in each nostril and sniffing it in will not only lubricate the nasal passage and throat but also strengthen the inner mucus membrane to keep away foreign bodies. ‘Nasya’, a therapeutic treatment for the nose, throat, sinuses and head, can be done with medicated oils like Anu Taila and Shadabindu oil.

* To fight Covid-19, giloy and Tulasi can be helpful. If someone has symptoms of coronavirus, consuming ‘kadha’ (decoction) of giloy and Tulasi with black pepper, turmeric and ginger will boost immunity and kill all kinds of viruses.

* Swami Ramdev has suggested that people should do pranayama — deep breathing, kapalabhati and anulom vilom to increase immunity.

* You should eat only well-cooked food, avoid spitting in public, and avoid close contact.WHO has said that it is important for people to seek medical care at the earliest if they become sick.

Don’t listen to these crackpot coronavirus myths

The deadly coronavirus may have come from animals, but many of its purported remedies are from total quacks.

This week, the World Health Organization admitted it underestimated the virus’ death toll, which has climbed to over 3,100 since the first case was reported in December. And the fact that public health officials can’t seem to deliver accurate details has driven people to seek answers through more dubious sources, including religious leaders, conspiracy theorists and, of course, random people on social media.

The keys to halting the spread of coronavirus are good hygiene and preventative habits. Given what we do (and don’t) know about the infection, its best advice is similar to what it’s recommended during flu season: to wash hands several times daily, avoid touching the mouth and face and limit contact with sick individuals.

Garlic water, peppercorns or sesame oil

Garlic is delicious, but it’s not a coronavirus drug or vaccine.
Some proponents of traditional medicine have recommended a few strange (and arguably delicious) tools to combat COVID-19, including a sesame oil scrub or drinking water boiled with garlic., the South China Morning Post reported, as well as peppercorns — exactly seven under the tongue. It’s true that all three contain anti-oxidants, which indeed give the immune system a boost.

Garlic is a healthy food that may have some antimicrobial properties. However, there is no evidence from the current outbreak that eating garlic has protected people from 2019-nCoV
Sesame oil is delicious but it does not kill 2019-nCoV,

If your gut is healthy, you don’t have to worry about the corona

It’s true that some 80 per cent of all antibody-producing immune cells are situated in your gut but it’s not the whole story. Since there is no vaccine for coronavirus, the best way to prevent transmission is to be vigilant about personal hygiene. And, as we already know, even seemingly healthy individuals could become ill and die from the mysterious virus.

Vitamin megadoses

Although there is a China-based clinical trial in the works to test the antiviral impact of vitamin C,  gobbling vitamin supplements won’t be the key to keeping coronavirus at bay.

Yoga

Considered a fundamental of Ayurvedic medicine, yoga is certainly good for the body. But there’s nothing out there to prove that deep breathing or the sun salutation pose will protect you from coronavirus.

World Cancer Day: Trials to develop Ayurveda & Yoga as alternative to cancer treatment

Every year, one million new cancer cases are registered in India, with 7.8 lakh deaths occurring annually. The number of cancer patients in the country is on the rise, with oral cancer accounting for 40 per cent of these cases. World Cancer Day is marked on February 4 to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment.

To develop alternative treatment options for cancer patients, Tata Memorial Hospital will soon start using Ayurveda and yoga. The hospital has tied up with the Ministry of Ayush to conduct two trials on ayurvedic medicine for the treatment of ovarian cancer.

The first study will look at whether the use of ayurvedic medicines can reduce the relapse rate of ovarian cancer. The second trial will monitor whether ayurvedic medicines can reduce the side-effects of neuropathy (nerve damage) caused by existing allopathic medicines in ovarian cancer patients.

The hospital is also conducting a clinical trial to assess whether yoga, done alongside conventional treatment, can help improve a patient’s health.
The latest clinical trial on yoga covers 850 breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy in the Parel-based hospital.
Started five years ago, the hospital is in the process of collating final data on whether yoga has improved quality of life, affected mortality of patients, and improved rate of success of treatment. Preliminary data shows those who do yoga while undergoing treatment had better tolerance levels to chemotherapy.

Try these 7 natural antibiotics

There’s no doubt that antibiotics have made a profound difference in the treatment of otherwise fatal diseases since their discovery 80-odd years ago. However, experts have shown that as many as 20% of patients treated with antibiotics experience adverse side effects that range from mild allergic reactions to severe gastrointestinal disturbances. Because of this, more people are turning to folk medicines that include the use of natural antibiotic remedies.

Here are some natural antibiotics—aromatic plants, herbs, spices, and their derivatives—that have been proven effective in clinical trials.

Goldenseal
Commonly consumed as a tea or taken as a supplement, the herb goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis) is often combined with echinacea for the prevention or treatment of the common cold. It is also used in traditional medicine for the treatment of various infections related to the eyes, skin, and urinary tract, as well as for diarrhoea, vaginitis, and canker sores—despite the lack of direct evidence supporting its use for these conditions.

Pau d’arco
Derived from the inner bark of several Tabebuia tree species, pau d’arco—also known as taheebo or lapacho—is endemic to South America, Due to its reported antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties, pau d’arco is often consumed as a herbal tea for a wide range of inflammatory ailments and infections, including arthritis, fever, prostatitis, candidiasis, bacterial infections, parasitic diseases, dysentery, boils, and ulcers.

Myrrh ( Gandharas/ Hirabol)
This russet- or golden-coloured resin had a variety of historical uses that ranged from religious incense and insect repellent to facial treatment and kohl eyeliner. Old-world medical practitioners valued myrrh for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties and considered it to be an effective remedy for an array of ailments, including indigestion, toothaches, and even leprosy. They also used myrrh in combination with frankincense as a purifying agent to stop the spread of airborne disease and bacteria—a practice some experts believe actually has some merit to it.

Today, myrrh is still used in Ayurvedic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, and aromatherapy, and is included in many natural mouthwashes and toothpastes as an FDA-approved additive. According to some research, myrrh oil may aid in pain relief and the healing of mouth sores.

Oregano
Most of us are familiar with the culinary uses of oregano in olive oil-based and tomato-centric dishes, but did you know that this Mediterranean herb also has important medicinal utility as an antibacterial and antifungal agent? In a review of studies focusing on the antibiotic and antimicrobial activities of several spices and their derivatives, researchers found that oregano was among the most effective natural antibiotics against several strains of bacteria and fungi—including Salmonella, Escherichia coli, and Bacillus subtilis—and was especially effective as an essential oil.

Thyme
Like oregano, thyme is another culinary gem that has been shown to have strong bactericidal activity as an essential oil. In a study that examined the antibacterial activity of thyme and lavender essential oils on strains of Staphylococcus, Enterococcus, Escherichia, and Pseudomonas genera, researchers found that “thyme essential oil demonstrated a good efficacy against antibiotic-resistant strains of the tested bacteria.” In another study that focused exclusively on the effect of thyme essential oil on standard bacterial strains and 120 clinical strains derived from patients with infections.

Neem oil
Neem oil is derived from the fruits and seeds of the neem tree (Azadirachta indica), which is endemic to the Indian subcontinent. Although neem oil has a gamut of uses in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, it is largely prized as an antibacterial and antifungal agent, and is used for the treatment of ringworm, head lice, bacterial infections of the skin, and other skin conditions like hives, eczema, psoriasis, and scabies.

Neem has a remarkable effect on chronic skin conditions. Acne, psoriasis, eczema, ringworm and even stubborn warts are among the conditions that can clear up easily when high-quality, organic neem oil is used.

Anise
Anise, or aniseed (Pimpinella anisum), is a spice with a distinct licorice-like taste that is often used as a flavouring additive in desserts and beverages. Among its many health benefits, anise has been shown to inhibit bacterial and fungal growth, making it a powerful antimicrobial agent. In a 2017 study, for instance, researchers assessed the antibacterial and resistance modulatory activity of aniseeds waste residue extract (ASWRE) and star anise waste residue extract (SAWRE) against 100 isolates of Streptococcus pneumoniae, S. aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, E. coli, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. They found that both ASWRE and SAWRE demonstrated significant bactericidal activity against all of the bacterial strains tested and were notably synergistic when used with conventional antibiotics.

Is Black Salt Better Than Regular Salt?

Black salt is a popular ingredient in Indian cuisine. It offers a unique flavor that enhances many dishes. There are also claims that it provides several health benefits.

What is black salt?
Though there are different types of black salt, Himalayan black salt is the most common.Himalayan black salt is pinkish-brown in color.
It’s a rock salt that comes from the salt mines of Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and other locations in the Himalayas.

The use of black salt was first documented in Ayurvedic medicine, a traditional and holistic approach to health that originated in India.
Ayurvedic healers claim that Himalayan black salt has therapeutic qualities. However, it’s debatable whether these claims are rooted in solid research.

Today, many black salts are made synthetically from a combination of sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, sodium bi-sulfate, and ferric sulfate. The salt is then mixed with charcoal and heated before the final product is ready. The finished product contains impurities like sulfates, sulfides, iron, and magnesium, contributing to its color, smell, and taste.
These impurities are likely not harmful to your health. Sulfates are considered safe to eat and are used in certain food products to control harmful bacterial growth.

Possible health benefits
May be lower in sodium than table salt
Commercial table salt may have a higher sodium content than naturally derived black salt. Because of its purported lower sodium content, black salt may be a better option for people with high blood pressure or those looking to reduce their sodium intake.

May contain fewer additives
Black salt may contain fewer additives than regular table salt. This is because traditional black salt goes through minimal processing, without additives.
What’s more, anti-caking agents — which can be harmful to your health — are added to regular table salt to prevent the formation of lumps.

May improve digestion. It’s believed that black salt may help improve digestion, provide laxative effects, and relieve gas and bloating. However, research is needed to support these claims.
May enhance skin and hair. Due to its mineral content, black salt may improve skin and hair health. Yet once again, there is minimal research to support these claims.

Is black salt healthier?
The higher mineral content of black salt may not be that relevant, since your body can’t absorb them very well, and you generally eat such a small amount of salt in one sitting.
Plus, many black salts available for purchase are likely made synthetically, which tend to be low in mineral content anyway.

SUMMARY
There isn’t enough research to suggest that black salt is healthier than regular table salt. It’s best to consume salt in moderation and use it to enhance the flavor of food.

Black salt is a great natural alternative to regular table salt, especially if you want to try an Indian or Asian recipe that calls for it. With its unique flavor profile, it can enhance the flavor of many dishes. However, it isn’t likely that you’ll experience any miraculous healing benefits that you may read about online.
